Therapy frequency is determined collaboratively with your family at the time of the evaluation. Most children receiving OT services are seen weekly for one-hour sessions.

Yes, a referral from your pediatrician is required to be seen at Flourish Therapy Service. You can request that your doctor complete this online referral form or fax the referral directly to our office at 678-623-5518. We will also will be happy to reach out to your child’s physician to request the referral on your behalf upon your completion of the intake form.

Occupational therapists help children become more independent in their daily "occupations" - which include play, dressing, feeding, sleeping, socializing, and moving around their environment. If your child is experiencing delays in any of these areas, showing poor coordination, struggling with handwriting, being overly sensitive to sensory experiences, having difficulty with attention, or experiencing frequent meltdowns, OT may be a great fit for your family!

During the evaluation, your therapist will spend approximately one hour observing your child at play, using a standardized assessment to evaluate their skills, and speaking with you to review their medical history and discuss your concerns.

The length of therapy is highly individualized and based on your child's unique needs. Re-evaluations are completed every six months to one year, and new goals are established at each re-evaluation. When your child has met all of their goals, we will work together to discuss next steps and discharge from therapy!
